susPLAN Environmental fund
Building a sustainable future in your community through grants to improve homes and infrastructure for a cleaner, greener world.
The primary purpose of susPLAN is to improve the environment through verification of developments on behalf of planning officers, removing the burden of checking from officers and ensuring compliance on every development.
However:
Our secondary but equally important purpose is to give back to the communities in which we work. We do this by setting aside at least 30% of our net income for our charitable projects, these may vary from council to council but central to our offering is a fund to allow residents who do not qualify for green home grants to be able to access funding for sustainable interventions on their properties.
A percentage of the environmental fund is also available on a national level to sponsor young people to access training and qualifications within sustainable technology and installations industry, giving them a brighter future and building a national resource to address the shortage in sustainable technology installer skills.
When we set up our verification scheme with a new council, we set out the packages and conditions for eligibility to access funding.
The local fund is fed from verification fees susPLAN charges to verify applications.
